THAI AMULET
TARAD PRA SOMDEJ
I started collecting the Pra SomDej when I was a young Buddhist monk in
I feel that the magazine companies and website that intentionally showing fake amulets are doing immoral act. I feel that some uses fake pictures in supplement of the real one and intentionaly misleading the people. I feel that this may be an attempt to introduce what a real one supposes to look like with the use of fake items and generate a false market for future distribution.
I feel that it is highly immoral and that they do have a responsibility and obligation to put out correct information to the public and the future generation as well. I occasionally see FAKE amulets being displayed and sold for as much as $30,000,000 to $40,000,000 Thai Bhat, (exchange rate of Approximately 34-1 US Dollar). To some of the magazine company it is not importan to the company whether or not the item being advertise are real. Often it is only about the bottom line, as long as the magazine compnay receive the fee's for the advertisement. I feel that Thai government should do more to protect the people and their heritage. This is one of the reason that motivated and leads me to decide to create this website and to educate the public of what a real and high quality SomDej should look like. I hope that the site and some of the knowledge I have obtained during the last 20 years may be of some value to you.
